Our approach

One tool that combines all the sources.

Proper diligence means checking a dozen registers and databases, one by one. Most angels check two, or none. We enable UK angels with a single gateway: Tero holds the connections (official APIs, licensed data subscriptions, live web research) so one login replaces the dozen tabs.

Tero never takes a founder's claims at face value. Every company is verified directly against the official Companies House register, then cross-checked with the FCA register, sanctions lists, court records and the live web.

One investor, a dozen tabs, logins and PDFs. An evening per deal, so most checks never happen.

One connection. Tero maintains the pipes: official APIs, licensed data subscriptions and live web research. Every report lists each check it ran, including the clean ones.

Background & integrity
  • Companies House official API: live company status, officers, PSC register and full filing history
  • Disqualified-directors register
  • OFSI, OFAC & UN sanctions lists, screened live
  • The Gazette: insolvency, bankruptcy & winding-up notices
  • Court judgments via Find Case Law (The National Archives)
  • Adverse-media sweep for litigation & regulatory mentions
  • FCA Financial Services Register: firms & individuals
Digital & traction
  • Real monthly website-traffic estimates, charted (SEMrush)
  • Apple App Store ratings & review counts
  • Live hiring boards & open-role counts
  • GitHub developer activity
  • Trustpilot, G2, Reddit & app-store reviews
Market & competition
  • SH01 allotment filings, parsed: real raise sizes & price per share
  • Live web research with every claim cited
  • Funding databases & press, cross-checked
  • Comparable-market sizing where none exists yet
  • Business-plan assumptions, pressure-tested
  • SEIS/EIS scheme signals: advance-assurance claims tested
The numbers that never make the press

Every UK share issue must be filed at Companies House on form SH01, with the actual price paid per share and the full share count. It's buried in PDFs almost nobody reads. Tero reads them: real raise sizes, implied valuations, staged rounds and dilution, all computed from the filed record and set against whatever the founder's deck claims. When a portfolio company files a new allotment, you get the alert.

Checks run via official APIs and public registers. Where a source can't be reached, the report says so. Honesty about what wasn't verified is part of the product.

Solution #1 · Structured due diligence

Structured due diligence, run by AI agents.

Give Tero a name, a URL or a deck. It extracts every claim into an evidence ledger, checks it against the official Companies House record and the other registers, researches nine modules in parallel, then a second, sceptical agent attacks the judgment calls and forces an evidence-backed revision before anything reaches you. When the report lands, ask Tero any follow-up question in chat, and export the whole memo as a PDF for your co-investors. Open any module below.

Charts, not adjectives

Market size, funding comparisons, real monthly traffic. All drawn from sourced numbers, never invented.

A memo you can forward

One-click PDF export with every chart and check, built to be sent to co-investors. Then ask the analyst follow-ups in chat.

Solution #2 · Portfolio monitoring

After you invest, Tero keeps watch.

Angel positions go quiet for years, until the one week they don't. Tero watches the registers, the filings and the news for every company you hold, and interrupts you only for the things that matter.

News with the so-what

Tero watches news for every company you hold and tells you what each story means for your position. One honest line, not a clippings folder.

Dilution alerts from the filed record

The moment a portfolio company files a new share allotment (SH01), you get the alert with the implied valuation. Often before the press release, sometimes instead of one.

Register watch

Director resignations, charges over assets, insolvency and strike-off activity, pulled from Companies House filings rather than rumours.

The weekly brief

Every Monday: portfolio performance, an AI-written read on the week, and the news behind it. In your inbox before your coffee.

SEIS/EIS relief tracker

Certificates chased, claim deadlines watched, clawback dates on record, and your true net downside per position, computed.

Ask Tero anything

A portfolio analyst in the sidebar, grounded in your holdings and their news, extended by live search. It can even launch a diligence run from chat.

The obvious question

Why not just ask ChatGPT?

Fair question. Tero is built on the same frontier AI models that power ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity. The difference is everything wired around them: live connections to the official registers, licensed data a chat window cannot reach, and a verification discipline no single prompt can replicate. A chat assistant gives you a well-written summary of what the internet says. Tero checks what the internet says against what was actually filed.
